Swatches

Here are some very quickly done swatches of the Kool-Aid yarn I dyed Saturday. I should probably knit a little more on each one, but I wanted to get them started and out there for your comments.

They don't look anything like I envisioned them to be, so that's kinda cool. The second swatch is the first skein I dyed, and I like it more than I thought I would.

Have a great night!

...and when you actually knit them into somehting it isn't going to be a little swatch, so I think that will change the look too. I noticed that just in changing from the mittens to the hat.

Most impressive balls...

:o)

I can't be serious for an entire post, are you new???

You know you would have been disappointed...of course...your balls can't compare to the bag shaving I read about earlier tonight...

The bar has been raised.

I love your balls... of yarn Paul geez. I especially like the first one, but then again I'm partial to pastels and lighter colors.

Hugs!

The yarn is excellent! Love the movement in them - especially the second one - maybe because it seems to have more colors in it - at least on my computer screen -.
The last one red/blue love the way it chunks...(new word...really like it...reminds me of some of the hair coloring I saw in Quebec City...) No, not the color - just the chunks of a particular color :) (although there were a few with strange looking colors on their heads...)

It's not this place. It's Ann. I used to be such a quiet guy. Then I started blogging. Then it all went in the toilet...... Now I'm a mess... LOL!

Me evil? I blame Dave for bringing us together..an innocent enough post to his blog--please visit this guy.

Little did he know that once the evil twins were united, all hell would break loose.

heh heh heh

Don't you just LOVE it?

What wonderful skeins!! And then you roll it up into a ball, and they are all mixed up! Start knitting, and there is a whole new configuration! Amazing!

But you know of course, that a small swatch like that means nothing. If it was larger, the whole thing would look drastically different. And if knit in the round, for socks or mittens, it's another whole different thing. And even more different is a sweater knit in the round! To get a particular pattern showing up, you have to know how the yarn is going to be used and for what, and to dye it accordingly. Oh, this makes my head hurt.. too much math!!

Thank you all for the kind words about the yarn. Some of it will be going to my dye buddy, but I'm just not sure which ones yet. I still have 2 more skeins to dye, so we'll see what I do with them...

Thanks again.

Hey Paul,
nice job on the dyeing! Although not particularly "my" colors, I really like the way the green/pink is knitting up.... yeah, that Dave's got him some competition now *grin*
